Our Story

I'm Anna, the owner, baker, and founder of La Croute. Baking has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and what began as a love for creating desserts for family and friends eventually became a dream of opening my own bakery.

 

My journey led me to the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, where I earned an Associate Degree in Baking & Pastry Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Food Business Management with a concentration in Advanced Pastry. Those experiences gave me the technical foundation, creativity, and business knowledge to build the bakery I had always envisioned.

 

In October 2024, La Croute opened its doors with a simple mission: create incredible desserts using real ingredients and traditional baking methods without the unnecessary additives, artificial ingredients, or shortcuts that have become so common in today's food industry.

 

Every item we make is handcrafted from scratch in small batches. We use real butter, fresh eggs, quality chocolate, pure vanilla, fresh fruits, and carefully selected ingredients because we believe you can taste the difference. We never rely on premade mixes, artificial flavors, or corner-cutting techniques. If there's an easier way to do something but it compromises quality, we don't do it.

 

La Croute is proudly woman-owned and primarily woman-operated, built by a team of talented bakers who care deeply about the products we create and the customers we serve. (And yes, we also have one incredible part-time male employee who keeps us laughing and helps make the magic happen.)

In a short time, our commitment to quality has earned recognition throughout our community, including being named Best Bakery in the Stateline and receiving the Stately Award for Small Business.

 

Whether you're visiting us in person or ordering our desserts shipped directly to your door, our goal remains the same: to create desserts that taste homemade, feel special, and are made with ingredients you can feel good about sharing with the people you love.
